Ah, swing trading. The only job where you can feel like a Wall Street wolf one minute and a penny-pinching pauper the next. Let me take you on a whirlwind tour of my last two days in the market. Buckle up—it's been a wild ride!
July 5, 2024: The Early Bird Gets the GOOG
9:36 AM: I kicked off my trading day with a bang, selling a share of GOOG at $187.40. I felt like a genius—until I realized I could have waited for the price to climb. But hey, hindsight is 20/20 and... I thought this is getting way over-priced.
9:41 AM: Next, I sold NGG at $60.12. This stock had gapped up, and I was riding that wave like a pro surfer. Little did I know, my board was about to snap.
9:44 AM: Feeling frisky, I bought 9 shares of WEN at $16.20. Nothing says confidence like a purchase of fast food stocks early in the morning. Let’s just hope my appetite for profits is as big as my appetite for burgers.
9:47 AM: Not one to stop there, I doubled down with another buy of WEN, this time in my joint account. Two shares at $16.20 each. Because why not? It’s not like I’m putting my financial future at risk... right?
9:53 AM: Time to cash in again! I sold a fraction of VOO at $507.09, taking some sweet, sweet gains. It’s like finding a dollar in your winter coat pocket from last year.
9:56 AM: Bought 3 shares of MSM at $77.60. Did I need them? Probably not. But in the spirit of diversification and reckless optimism, I went for it.
10:01 AM: Then, I grabbed 10 shares of AMCR at $9.54. If this stock was a baseball player, it’d be a reliable singles hitter. Not a home run, but it keeps the game going.
10:06 AM: My alter ego, Amber, joined the fun, buying 2 shares of CAG at $28.03. She’s got an eye for good deals—and the patience of a saint.
10:12 AM: Sold my last share of GOOG at $191.35. Took my gains and ran like a bandit. Well, a very slow-moving bandit with a limp.
10:15 AM: Unloaded a share of V at $269.20. Just call me the profit piper—I play a sweet tune of gains.
10:18 AM: Picked up 2 shares of DRI at $144.55. Because who doesn’t love a good restaurant stock? Olive Garden, here we come!
10:26 AM: Snatched up 11 shares of KLG at $16.65. The price was right, and so was my gut feeling. Let’s see if it pays off.
10:30 AM: Bought 2 shares of WGO at $51.99. RV stocks in the summer—what could go wrong?
11:29 AM: Amber’s back, selling 3 shares of INTC at $32.03. She’s a better trader than I am, clearly.
12:24 PM: And she’s at it again, buying a share of CCI at $95.81. From chips to cell towers, Amber’s got a diversified portfolio and nerves of steel.
July 8, 2024: More Highs and Lows
10:38 AM: Kicked off Monday by selling 3 shares of CAG at $28.63. Starting the week with some gains—who doesn’t love that?
10:45 AM: Sold a share of ADM at $62.86. It’s like a flash sale, but for my portfolio.
10:49 AM: Picked up 2 shares of CSCO at $46.43. Because networking is the future, and I’m all about that futuristic cash.
10:53 AM: Sold a share of DLTR at $107.43. Every little bit counts, especially when it’s a dollar stock in the triple digits.
11:03 AM: Bought 4 shares of ASC at $20.39. They say the CEO is stepping down, but I see good fundamentals. Let’s hope my vision’s not blurry.
11:42 AM: Picked up 4 shares of AVA at $33.76. Another day, another potential payout.
11:43 AM: Bought a share of PAYC at $139.93. A pricey buy, but I’m feeling lucky.
2:00 PM: Sold a share of EL at $107.08. Took the gains and ran—again.
2:54 PM: Sold 2 shares of PNC at $158.20. Bank stocks are like a rollercoaster, and I’m just trying to enjoy the ride without losing my lunch.
7:15 PM: Ended the day by buying 3 shares of MDT at $76.90. A nightcap for my trading day. Cheers to that!
Another Day of Trading!
So here’s to the next trade, the next thrill, and hopefully, the next gain. Because in the wild world of swing trading, the only thing that’s certain is the fun of the ride.
